ROI Simulator
Simulate the financial return of ERP, automation and process improvement projects: ROI, payback, NPV, IRR and pessimistic, realistic and optimistic scenarios.
Start from a template
ROI over the horizon—
Payback—
NPV—
IRR (p.a.)—
Full monthly gain—
Net result—
Cumulative cash flow
Pessimistic: gains 30% lower and investment 15% higher. Optimistic: gains 20% higher.

How the calculation works
- Gains start in the go-live month and grow linearly to the full value (adoption curve).
- ROI = (gains − costs) ÷ costs over the chosen horizon.
- Payback is the month when the cumulative flow stops being negative.
- NPV brings the monthly flow to present value at the given discount rate; IRR is the annualized rate that makes NPV zero.
- Inventory gain considers the cost of capital on the reduced value (not the one-off cash release).
This is an estimate. Use conservative assumptions and validate them with the areas involved before deciding.
